No need to reply to those questions. That's why you have to install the proper soundcard drivers (in this case the Vista 64 drivers work fine). Everything runs with no problems including most of the docking station ports (usb, monitors, etc.) However, the sound port from the docking station does not work since the upgrade to Windows-7. this content When docked, sound works from laptop speakers or on board headphone jack, unless there are speakers plugged into the docking station's headphone jack, in which case there is no sound at
To your other question... It was only playing a few system sounds through them and then ignoring that they were plugged in all together.
